Gilets Jaunes

The Gilets Jaunes movement erupted across France in late 2018, initially as a protest against rising fuel taxes before expanding into a broader expression of economic frustration and social inequality. What began at rural roundabouts quickly transformed Paris into a stage for weekly confrontations between demonstrators and riot police.

This series documents the raw energy of the protests along the Champs-Élysées and surrounding streets — the barricades, the tear gas, the defiance, and the solidarity.
